NAGAON: In a shocking incident, a nurse was allegedly abducted from a nursing home in Batadroba and later found lying on the roadside in a critical condition near Bhumuraguri. The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the district.
According to sources, the nurse was abducted by a group of miscreants in directive of one Billal Uddin from the nursing home on December 23. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras, which showed three girls, allegedly students of a local college, took the nurse away from the nursing home, playing tricks.
The family of the victim nurse, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Nagaon Metro Hospital, alleged today that she was given a sedative-laced drink by the miscreants at a hotel near Sonai Ghat soon after abduction following which she was found in a critical condition near at Bhumuraguri by Batadroba police. The family of the victim claimed that she was assaulted in her unconscious state and left on the roadside.
The victim’s family has filed a complaint with the senior police authority concerned of Nagaon police, demanding justice and action against the perpetrators. The incident has sparked widespread outrage in the district, with locals demanding stringent action against the miscreants. Meanwhile, Batadroba police registered a case in this regard and further investigation is on.
