SIVASAGAR: The Maha Palnaam event, organized by the All Assam Krishna Surya Naam Society and Cultural Research Centre, is set to be held in the Sukan Pukhuri area of Sivasagar district from March 13 to March 16 with a four-day programme dedicated to the welfare of all living beings.
The Maha Palnaam office was ceremonially inaugurated at the Sukan Pukhuri area by Sivasagar Revenue Circle Officer Nakib Sayeed Baruah today. The event was coordinated by Ashim Chetia.
In his inaugural speech, Nakib Baruah acknowledged his privilege to attend such a spiritually significant event, stating, “I feel fortunate to be part of this occasion dedicated to the divine. Events like this bring peace to the world. Every religion preaches peace.” He also emphasized the historical role of Sivasagar in spreading messages of peace, harmony, and unity. Baruah assured full support from the district administration for the success of the spiritual programme.
During the ceremony, Naamacharya Hiren Baruwati requested the Circle Officer to allocate a permanent plot of land for the Krishna Surya Naam Society. Responding to this, Nakib Baruah mentioned that the matter would be discussed with the administration for further action.
The significance of the event was explained by Bhaben Handique. Devotees and Vaishnavites from various parts of the Sivasagar district attended the event.
