Haflong: Haflong, the headquarters of Dima Hasao, recently witnessed an unprecedented gathering of people from all walks of life during a rally organized by the Dima Hasao BJP at the NL Daolagupu Sports Complex. The rally, held on Friday, was a celebration of eight years of BJP rule in the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council and a pledge to continue working for the betterment of the district and its people.

The event began with floral tributes to the portraits of Bharat Mata, Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, followed by the lighting of a holy lamp by the dignitaries present. The massive crowd, estimated at around 30,000 people, was welcomed by Executive Member Donpainan Thaosen, who highlighted the popularity of the BJP due to the tireless efforts of its leaders in developing the region and improving the lives of its people.

Speakers at the rally, including Chairman Mohet Hojai, District President Dhriti Thaosen, and Executive Members Paudaming Nriame and Samuel Changsan, emphasized the achievements of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council under the leadership of CEM Debolal Gorlosa. They praised the council’s success in maintaining peace and fostering development in the district over the past eight years.

In his speech, CEM Debolal Gorlosa detailed the council’s accomplishments in various fields, including employment and education. He promised to continue the journey of development and maintain peace despite challenges posed by unscrupulous individuals. Gorlosa’s commitment to the district’s progress resonated with the crowd, further solidifying the BJP’s support in the region.

Speaking to the media, District President Dhriti Thaosen expressed confidence in the BJP’s strong support base in Dima Hasao. He warned that those involved in anti-party activities would face disciplinary action. CEM Gorlosa also addressed the media, asserting that the BJP has no substitute in Dima Hasao due to its significant contributions to the district. He expressed sorrow for the victims of the Umrangso tragedy and refuted false allegations against his spouse related to the incident.
