DHEKIAJULI: A wave of enthusiasm has gripped the Bathou devotees as Orang gears up for a historic celebration. The Silver Jubilee of the Orang Unit Bathou Mahasabha and the 34th Annual Session of the Udalguri District Bathou Mahasabha are set to be held on March 21, 22, and 23. The event will witness the participation of thousands of devotees and distinguished guests.
A significant highlight of the celebration is the completion of the Orang Regional Bathou Temple, constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore. The much-awaited inauguration of the temple is scheduled for March 20, with the main gate being inaugurated by Mazbat MLA Charan Boro. The main temple will be formally opened by Ganesh Daimari, General Secretary of the Central Bathou Mahasabha.
The organizing committee has undertaken meticulous preparations to accommodate the anticipated influx of nearly 50,000 devotees. A grand dining facility is being set up, allowing approximately 2,000 people to dine simultaneously, while arrangements have been made to host around 4,000 guests. A dedicated workforce of over 500 individuals is tirelessly working to ensure a seamless and successful event.
This milestone event will be graced by several eminent personalities, including BTR Chief Pramod Boro, Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Member of Parliament Dilip Saikia, among others.
Bathou followers regard this gathering as a sacred occasion to pray for global peace and unity. The organizing committee, led by President Nilut Swargiary and Working President Montu Basumatary, has extended an open invitation to people from all sections of society to join in this momentous celebration. With anticipations running high, the Orang Unit Bathou Mahasabha is poised to be a remarkable event, strengthening the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Bathou community.
