KALAIGAON: In a heartwarming gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to a newlywed couple from Tangla town in Udalguri district through a personalized congratulatory letter, making their special day even more memorable. The young lawyer couple, Shajid Khan and Nasrina Sultana, residents of Hospital Road in Ward No. 3 of Tangla town in Udalguri district, was overwhelmed upon receiving the letter, which was addressed to Shajid Khan’s parents, Safdar Khan and Syeda Narjuma Begum. The letter, penned on the official letterhead of the Prime Minister, conveyed PM Modi’s blessings and warm wishes for the couple’s happy married life. The message, filled with warmth and goodwill, left the family and well-wishers elated. “It was a moment of immense pride and joy for our family. Receiving such a heartfelt message from the Prime Minister himself is a blessing we will cherish forever,” said Safdar Khan, father of the groom. Family members, friends, and locals thronged the couple’s residence to catch a glimpse of the special letter and share in their joy. The groom, Shajid Khan, a journalist and advocate and Tangla Correspondent of The Sentinel, has worked for several national and international media outlets including The New York Times, The Telegraph, and expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s thoughtful gesture. “This is a moment we will always hold close to our hearts. We are deeply honoured,” he said.
