BOKAKHAT: Polling officials have departed for their respective polling stations in Bokakhat co-district for the upcoming Panchayat election. With excellent coordination, the ballot boxes and other essential election materials were distributed on Thursday morning in preparation for the first phase of voting scheduled for Friday.
The Bokakhat subdivision administration has taken special initiatives to ensure smooth conduct of the 2025 Panchayat election. The total number of registered voters in the Bokakhat is 1,39,267. For better management, the entire co-district has been divided into four zones and 20 sectors.
In total, 204 polling stations will be set up for the elections in Bokakhat. Of these, 39 polling stations will be exclusively managed by women officials. A total of 816 presiding and polling officers have been deployed for the election. Additionally, 100 officials have been kept on standby as reserve presiding and polling officers.
The Bokakhat subdivision comprises 4 Zila Parishad constituencies and 1 Anchalik Panchayat. Elections will be held across 20 Gaon Panchayats within the subdivision.
Notably, as per the announcement made by the State Election Commission, the first phase of the Panchayat election in Bokakhat will take place on May 2. Voting will be conducted from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The counting of votes is scheduled for May 11, starting at 8:00 AM. This time, the voting process will be carried out using ballot papers.
