DHEKIAJULI: The first central executive meeting of the Assam Press Correspondents’ Union (APCU) for the 2025–2027 session was held on Saturday at Swaraj Bhawan, Kampur, in Nagaon district. Organized with diligence by the Nagaon district committee of APCU, the meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation from all corners of the state, including a significant presence from the Dhekiajuli sub-divisional committee.

Representing the Dhekiajuli Sama-Zilla Samiti, Secretary Kalpajyoti Nath, President Sujit Kataki, Executive President Tapan Sen Gupta, and Central Representative Dharani Keot took active part in the daylong proceedings. The dignitaries expressed deep appreciation for the commendable hospitality and well-organized arrangements extended by the host committee.

The meeting was graced by key office bearers of APCU including Central Secretary Harat Henchuwa and Executive President Mousamjyoti Baishya, President Swapan Rabha, alongside a number of senior central leaders. An open session held in the latter half of the day provided a common platform for vibrant discussion, exchange of ideas, and strategic alignment among the district units.

Representatives from APCU units across all districts of Assam presented their respective activity reports, shared field-level experiences, and outlined future goals to strengthen grassroots journalism and the voice of working correspondents. The event marked a strong show of unity, commitment, and renewed direction for APCU as it embarks on its new term of service, advocating for the rights and welfare of press correspondents in the state.
