Assam Rifles holds motivational lectures in Silchar

SILCHAR: Besides organising online career counselling for the youths of villages of Jiribam district, Assam Rifles as a part of its academic welfare activities also focused on motivational lectures to them in Kaimai hamlet of Tamenlong. Both aimed at assisting, guiding and inspiring the rural youths cut off from such facilities at home and at their centres of learning. In both the sessions, the participating youths seemed enriched in knowledge of the subjects, quite foreign to them.

Students were guided to have appropriate choice of career in consistent with their own and not imposed interest. They were also provided information about opportunities for their career build-up available in armed and paramilitary forces. Both the lecturers were part of the two-day programme within a week.

Youths in the present pandemic situation living in a state of confusion and almost bottled up in their rural settlements far from the madding crowds found a beacon of hope in Assam Rifles and almost all in attendance admitted it, offering their gratitude to them. What added much punch to the lectures of Assam Rifles was the insight into the issues of their concern. It was enlightening for the youths on the vicious effects of drug abuse and how best to keep themselves away from it.

The young fellows were given to understand the importance of education, health, sports and extra- curricular activities in global context as well as how best they could contribute towards the society and the nation. The Kadamtala Battalion of Assam Rifles is now a widely known and well admired friendly force of northeast for its continuous welfare activities for youths and general masses.
