KOKRAJHAR: Along with various parts of Assam, the educational institutions in Kokrajhar celebrated Sri Sri Saraswati Puja today with great enthusiasm. Students and faculty members participated in the festivities seeking blessings from the goddess of wisdom for acquiring knowledge and academic success.

The celebration of Saraswati Puja at Kokrajhar Girls’ College was one of the most spectacular ones where students from diverse religious backgrounds, including Islam and Christianity, came together to celebrate the puja. Their joint participation highlighted the spirit of unity and cultural harmony. Based on their respective tradition of worship, the students set up two separate pandals for offering prayers. Some students performed puja at the idol of the goddess and offered prayers while others took part in a Jagyahuti (fire ritual) adding a spiritual dimension to the celebrations. The event served as a reflection of social and cultural inclusivity, demonstrating that faith and devotion transcend barriers of caste, creed, and religion. The students, irrespective of their backgrounds, came together in their shared pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, making the Saraswati Puja celebrations a true symbol of harmony in Kokrajhar.
