Assam: Sootea OC Distributes Blankets to VDP Members

JAMUGURIHAT: Showcasing the humanitarian zenith, Trilochan Das, Officer In-Charge of Sootea Police Station under the jurisdiction of the office of the Superintendent of Police, Biswanath, distributed twenty blankets to the on-duty members of Village Defence Party (VDP), secretaries on Sunday night to cope up with the cold.

It is pertinent to mention here that there are sixty VDP secretaries under the jurisdiction of Sootea PS. Talking to this correspondent, OC Das said that he would distribute a total of twenty blankets to the VDP secretaries and members of various locations in his first venture.

The people of the greater Sootea area have praised the initiative undertaken by the Officer In-Charge of Sootea PS. It is further worthy to be mentioned here that the VPDs under Sootea PS provide regular patrol in their respective areas resulting in fewer acts of cattle smuggling, anti-social activities, etc.
