BAKSA: A group of students on an educational trip faced a tense situation earlier today, April 5th, in the Bansbari forest range of Manas National Park when a wild rhinoceros charged at their safari vehicle. The students, who were visiting from Guwahati, were part of a school excursion aimed at learning about wildlife and conservation.
As the group was driving along the park, they were surprised by a rhinoceros emerging from nowhere and running towards their vehicle. The huge creature pursued the safari vehicle for quite a distance, sending the students and their supervising staff into panic.
Due to the swift response and skilled driving of the safari operator, the group was able to successfully avoid the charging rhino, and all students made it back home safely.
The attack has raised increasing fears regarding a surge in violent attacks by rhinos at the national park, which is a challenge to both tourists and the park authorities. It highlights the need for improved security measures and vigilance to safeguard tourists in the area.
Park officials will most likely re-evaluate current measures and consider other measures to further protect both wildlife and visitors. With the increasing popularity of educational safaris, the provision of a safe environment for all visitors continues to be an important priority for Manas National Park management.
