GUWAHATI: Assam on Tuesday achieved a milestone in the Covid-19 Vaccination process by administering 5 crore doses. A total of 5,00,05,247 vaccine doses have been administered out of which 2,47,73,929 administered the first dose, 2,20,20,263 administered the second dose, and 32,11,055 administered the precaution dose that was recently rolled out as a shield for both the previous doses.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked each and everyone in Assam especially the frontline health care personnel through a tweet where he says, "Five crore vaccination doses completed in #Assam! Another major milestone in the state's fight against #COVID19. My gratitude to our dedicated team of healthcare & frontline personnel for making this possible. A big thanks to all for believing in us and volunteering for the process".
Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta too took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and thanked each and every healthcare personnel in Assam for the undaunted role they played in this fight against the deadly Corona Virus, He tweeted, "Congratulations to all as Assam achieves milestone of 5 cr Covid vaccination! Grateful for the constant guidance & leadership of HCM@himantabiswa. Appreciate the dedication of our Health care workers and Front line workers in achieving this feat 👏🏼".
Notably, Assam surpassed the 2.5 crore vaccination mark in November last year and now completed the other 2.5 crores in just 10 months' time which is praiseworthy.
