KOKRAJHAR: In a tragic moment Anil Kumar Basumatary, the Vice Principal of Kokrajhar Girls’ College, passed away due to a pressure stroke late Friday night at his residence in Tengapara, Kokrajhar. He was in his 50s. He left behind his wife Bidinta Basumatary and only son Bidhan Basumatary, a 4th semester student of CIT-Kokrajhar.
According to sources, Basumatary suffered a sudden health complication and was immediately rushed to a private hospital at Gangjema Bazar in Kokrajhar town at 10 30 pm. However, doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival.
Hailing from Shantpur of Chirang district and settled at Tengapara in Kokrajhar, was a sincere and dedicated principal. He was well known for his simplicity and association in various social works. He was deeply associated with Bathou. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the academic community and beyond. Colleagues, students, and well-wishers have expressed their grief. Meanwhile, the Bathou Gouthum expressed deep sorrow over his sudden death and prayed for his eternal peace.
