Assam: Week-long National Deworming Day campaign launched in Dhubri

The National Deworming Day campaign was launched today in Dhubri district with the aim of deworming 5.28 lakh children and adolescents in the age group of 1-19 years.

Dhubri: The National Deworming Day campaign was launched today in Dhubri district with the aim of deworming 5.28 lakh children and adolescents in the age group of 1-19 years. The campaign was formally launched by the Chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board Dr Debamoy Sanyal in a function held at the Sona Ullah Memorial English School in Dhubri town. The campaign, which would run for a week till February 17, would be implemented in collaboration with the education and social welfare departments.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mujjaddid Haque Khandakar highlighted the importance of deworming and its impact on health. Talking to The Sentinel, Dhubri district Media Expert of National Health Mission Moyezuddin Ahmed said that the campaign aimed to deworm all children and adolescents in the target age group, and would be implemented in all schools and Anganwadi centres in the district.
