BOKAKHAT: A shocking incident has surfaced from Parghat under the jurisdiction of Komargaon Police Station in Golaghat district, where a worker was allegedly assaulted by the manager of the SBI Brick Kiln for demanding his wages.

As per reports, the manager of the SBI Brick Kiln in Parghat, identified as Champu Bora, brutally beat up a worker named Bijoy Choudhury from Mikirchang, Bihora (Bokakhat subdivision) with bamboo sticks and iron rods when he demanded his due wages. The incident was disclosed to the media today.

Following the assault, Bijoy Choudhury filed a written complaint at the Komargaon Police Station against the manager. Notably, allegations have been raised that several illegally-operated brick kilns in the Parghat area of Bokakhat subdivision not only contribute to severe environmental pollution but also exploit workers by depriving them of their rightful wages.

Importantly, even after an FIR was lodged against the brick kiln’s owner Bijit Dutta and manager Champu Bora, Komargaon Police has allegedly taken no action, as per the victim’s family.
