KOKRAJHAR: A 15- workshop on classical Kathak dance and fine art organized by the Swrjilu Fine Art and Music Academy, Kokrajhar concluded on Thursday at Swrang High School, Mwiderkhoro. The workshop was sponsored by the government of BTR.
The students from class V to X were taught by experts of classical dance and fine art in the workshop and the students were given certificate of proficiency. The certificates were given away by social activist Raju Kr Narzary, local VCDC chairman Sanjay Basumatary, musical expert Dr. Gwmwthao Basumatary, classical master Anjima Brahma and noted cine artiste Swapan Kr Narzary (Degarsingh).
In his speech, social activist Raju Kr Narzary said the co-curriculum activities like dance and fine art are very important for the students with their normal education. He said the a student had hidden talent in various field and their talent should be explored. He thanked the Swrjilu Music and Fine Art Academy for organizing this 15-days workshop and give an opportunity to the interested students to choose their way of interest. He also hoped that the students will do hard work and achieve in their respective field of interest.
