BARPETA: Barpeta District Education Department held a special meeting to prepare for the upcoming Mock Gunotsav 2025, introducing an innovative digital assessment approach that promises to revolutionize educational evaluation.
The highlight of the meeting was the unveiling of the ‘Sameeksha’ mobile application, developed by Prasenjit Sarma, BRP, Barpeta Educational Block. This cutting-edge digital tool is set to transform school assessment across Barpeta and Bajali districts, leveraging artificial intelligence to provide comprehensive performance insights.
Inspector of Schools-cum-DEEO Barpeta Ratul Kumar Das elaborated on the app’s capabilities and the evaluation process. “We will conduct self-assessments on December 19, followed by external evaluations on December 20, 23, and 24,” he explained. Das expressed excitement about the digital initiative, noting that this is the first time ever that Barpeta district has completely digitalized the Mock-Gunotsav evaluation process.
The Sameeksha app stands out for its advanced features like comprehensive data collection on academic performances, analysis of co-curricular activities, assessment of school infrastructure, evaluation of uniform standards, and AI-powered grade determination and analysis.
“This app opens doors to endless possibilities in digital evaluation,” Das emphasized, praising Prasenjit Sarma’s innovative approach. The application can record and analyze multiple dimensions of school performance, utilizing artificial intelligence to provide instant and detailed insights.
Chandan Kumar Das, coordinator of the Special Gunotsav Committee-cum-BRP, Barpeta Educational Block, provided additional context about the initiative’s scale. The Mock Gunotsav programme will cover 2,058 schools across Barpeta and Bajali districts, involving 2,30,844 students. To ensure a thorough assessment, 2,058 external evaluators and 238 liaison officers will be deployed.
The Sameeksha app’s significance extends beyond this single evaluation. Education officials view the Sameeksha app as a potential model for future digital assessment methodologies, demonstrating how technology can enhance educational quality monitoring.
The meeting, led by Ratul Kumar Das and attended by education officials from various levels, including the Principal, DIET Barpeta, thoroughly reviewed all aspects of the Mock Gunotsav implementation.
As the education landscape continues to evolve, Barpeta’s Sameeksha app represents a significant leap forward in technology-driven educational assessment, promising more accurate, comprehensive, and transparent school evaluations.
