Assembly Election: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to address Bokajan rally on April 2

DONGKAMUKAM: As the polling date of the Assembly election approaches, political activities are gaining momentum in West Karbi Anglong, with back-to-back meetings by the political parties.

On Tuesday, in one such meeting at Langsudo, near Dongkamukam, Mongalsing Timung, EM, KAAC, campaigned for BJP candidate Dr Tuliram Ronghang, saying that he was sure to be inducted into Himanta Biswa Sarma’s cabinet.

He also said that one must remain with the government to avail oneself of the government facilities. “Also, if we remain united, our long-standing demand for an autonomous state would be achieved,” he added.   Meanwhile, the Opposition’s Cong-APHLC alliance also held a marathon meeting at the Dongkamukam head office to chalk out the campaign plan. In the meeting, it was informed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to visit Bokajan on April 2 for rallies in Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, and Dima Hasao.

It was also informed that star campaigner Kanhaiya Kumar will lead a road show on April 6 or 7 in the Rongkhang LAC.
