Baithalangso gearing up for Christmas celebration in West Karbi Anglong

Preparations for the Christmas celebration is all set at the W.R.Hutton Baptist Church in Baithalangso. The Christian community especially the youth wing of this church members decorated the church and the gate with lights and putting banners with great enthusiasm to welcomed Christmas.

The youth wing of the church also wished Merry Christmas to everyone.

As the holy month for Christians began from the first day of December pre-Christmas is celebrated each year in every nook and corner around the world from its first week. And amid the covid 19 pandemic this year too pre-Christmas celebration began in every part of the state along with other parts of the world.

On December 13 pre- Christmas was celebrated at the premises of Baithalangso Sports Association by the Joint Christian Committee of Baithalangso. Speaking to the media, Rev. Brightlingson Terang said," this year's pre-Christmas celebration aims to bring peace among all the people of the world as we have all been going through a challenging time since the novel coronavirus hit the globe."

However, this year due to the covid pandemic many churches in the state opted for online celebration.

Jesus Christ the Saviour who the Christians believe is the Son of God was born on the 25th of December and this very day, the Christians celebrate Christmas. And before this day, pre-Christmas is celebrated everywhere.
