GUWAHATI: A team from Basistha Police Station intercepted a red Tata Nexon behaving suspiciously near Beharbari. Inside were driver Nasib Ahmed (32) of North Lakhimpur and passenger Mohidul Ali (25) of Sarthebari — both visibly nervous. Upon inspection, officers found eight goats crammed into the boot. The men had no documents or explanation for the livestock. Following leads, police traced a third suspect, Pramud Barman (42) of Beharbari, in Sonkuchi, holding another goat. In total, three men, nine goats, and one hatchback were seized — with no plausible explanation offered. Legal action is underway.
