TANGLA: In a bid to build scientific temperament and stimulate creativity and address the curiosity of students in a positive manner, the Bigyan Anusandhan District Level Children’s Science Congress was held here at Tangla HS School today.

The event was held on the theme ‘Traditional Knowledge System for Sustainable Development’. The event, organized by District Children’s Science Congress, Udalguri, in association with Samagra Shiksha Assam(SSA) in collaboration with ASTEC, wherein models from three blocks of the district were evaluated by judges Birinchi Kr Sarma, Pranab Goswami, and three groups of students Rohit Malakar, Jimi Malo Das of Gelabil High School, Udalguri, Ananya Deka , Dhansiri Saikia of Bannagari High School, and Barnil Sandilya , Kunal Sahariah of Dakhin Chinakona High School, Khoirabari, were selected for participation in State Children’s Science Congress .

The exhibition,which was inaugurated by District Academic Co-ordinator, NCSC Deepa Sarmah, was presided over by Principal of Tangla HS School  Dr Dilip Baruah and attended by District Co-ordinator, Bigyan Anusandhan, NCSC, Udalguri, Pratap Chowhan, District Co-ordinator, NCSC, Udalguri, Lankeswar Baishya among others.

The event also witnessed a vehicle ‘Science on Wheels’ where various scientific principles and their working were demonstrated by experts. Addressing the session, Principal of Tangla HS School, Dr Dilip Baruah praised the efforts of the district Children’s Science Congress, for hosting the event which he opined forays the young minds into the world of science and technology. The event also witnessed felicitation of child scientist Sristi Barua who participated in NCSC in Bhopal in 2024. The event was also attended by BEEO, Khoirabari Education Block Bhumidhar Boro and BEEO, Udalguri Education Block Ramesh Ramchiary.
