Bokakhat Regional Students’ Union (RSU) representative meeting concludess, new committee formed

BOKAKHAT: The annual representative meeting of the Bokakhat Regional Students’ Union (RSU) was held on Friday at the Bokakhat Puorti Sahitya Sabha Bhavan. The programme began in the morning with the hoisting of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) flag by Lakshyajyoti Nath, the chief convenor of the Bokakhat Regional Students’ Union, followed by a tribute ceremony to the martyrs.

The representative meeting, presided over by Lakshyajyoti Nath, was formally inaugurated by convenor Samujjal Dutta. Notable attendees included AASU executive member Prince Doley, Golaghat District Students’ Union president Mintu Gogoi, general secretary Chiranjib Bora, Bokakhat Sub-Divisional Students’ Union president Monoj Saikia, and acting general secretary Geetarth Sonowal, along with several other officials of the district unit. Over a hundred student activists from Bokakhat participated in the meeting.

Golaghat District Students’ Union vice-president Niren Baruah and education secretary Milan Kairi were present as observers. During the meeting, a unanimous decision was taken regarding the selection of office-bearers for the upcoming term of the Bokakhat Regional Students’ Union. As per the resolution, Rupamjyoti Sharma was elected as president, Harshit Chetia Phukan as general secretary, Nekib Ali, Abhilash Bora, and Aditya Das as sub-divisional representatives, while Perich Plaban Saikia, Samujjal Dutta, and Bishwajit Debnath were elected as district representatives. Chinmoyjyoti Sharma, Bishwajit Debnath, Lakshyajyoti Nath, and Nabajit Senapati were chosen as advisors. At the end of the meeting, the newly elected president and general secretary were felicitated with traditional Assamese gamocha by Golaghat District Students’ Union president Mintu Gogoi and general secretary Chiranjib Bora as a gesture of good wishes to the new committee.
