MORIGAON: Debajani Deka Education Trust, a Morigaon based leading literary and socio-cultural organization, organized a critique on two special books written by two women, based on Indian Army ‘s experiences from the 1962 Indo-China war to the 1999 Kargil war. Both writers have tried to establish the Indian Army’s importance, role, and dedication towards the country. The event with song, drama, and critique mesmerized everyone at Nipun Pam, Baghara, Morigaon on Monday evening. The reviewed books were ‘Indian Army and the Writer’s Personal Experience’ (Bharatia Sena Bahini Aru Lekhikar Biyaktigat Abhigata ) written by Sandhyarani Dutta Kakati and ‘Tolilong To Kargil’ written by Ami Barthakur.
The Secretary of Debajani Deka Education Trust as well as the proprietor of Nipun Pam, Baghara Ashok Deka, organized the programme. Noted writer and litterateur Dr Paban Ch Gogoi provided a critical analysis on the books in a solemn atmosphere. A patriotic song was then performed by Ankita Das.
Moreover, a drama ‘Dhup Ka Ek Tukra’ translated ‘Ekajali Rod’ was staged in the programme in presence of the chief guest, noted poet Keshab Bora, noted Tiwa litterateur Maneswar Deuri, Colonel Jagadish Ch Kakati (Retd), and many writers and poets.
Talking to The Sentinel, writer Ami Barthakur said, “My book Tolilong To Kargil will inspire the youths who wish to serve in the Indian Army. It is written based on Captain Jintu Gogoi and how he had laid down his life for the country.”
