BTC Principal Secretary Akash Deep reviews development initiatives in Baksa district

KOKRAJHAR: The Principal Secretary of BTC, Akash Deep, undertook a comprehensive review of developmental schemes and projects during a visit to Baksa district on Friday. The visit aimed to assess the progress of key initiatives targeted at enhancing infrastructure and livelihoods in the region. The day-long programme featured site inspections, stakeholder interactions evaluations of various welfare projects, highlighting the district’s development progress.

During his visit, the Principal Secretary Akash Deep inspected the Barama Model Hospital, established under the RoP NHM scheme of Assam, to assess its infrastructure and healthcare services. He also reviewed the facilities at Barama B.Ed College, focusing on infrastructure and academic activities designed to expand educational opportunities in the district.

The Principal Secretary visited Goldingpara Model Anganwadi Centre, constructed under the SOPD scheme, and the Chandbarikhuti Anganwadi Centre constructed in convergence with MGNREGA Scheme of PNRD department. At the Anganwadi centres, the Principal Secretary Akash Deep and Baksa DC Gautam Das planted fruit saplings in the nutrition gardens. The team visited a Subansri (Ayushman Arogya Mandir) subcentre hosting an Arogya Sabha.

The Principal Secretary also visited individual progressive farmers who had benefited from various schemes.  The Principal Secretary also visited a pig farm at Balapara, operated by Priyanka Swargiary under the Bodoland Pig Mission, as part of his evaluation of livestock initiatives.

In a meeting held at the Subansree VCDC, the Principal Secretary engaged with field-level workers and VCDC personnel, addressing welfare issues and discussing ongoing initiatives to improve local governance. The day concluded with a District Development Committee (DDC) meeting, chaired by the Principal Secretary. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of the timely implementation of government schemes and reviewed the progress of Council-specific initiatives. He also expressed concern over incomplete projects and urged officials to prioritize their completion. PS Akash Deep also stressed on ensuring effective utilization of government funds and the delivery of quality public services to the people of Baksa district.
