KOKRAJHAR: Chirang district administration has called upon the farmers of the district to sell their paddy only in registered Paddy Procurement Centres.

The Deputy Commissioner of Chirang P Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy said the paddy procurement in Chirang district had reached 4,004.32 MT (89%) against the target of 4,500 MT till May 31. He said the district administration had capacity to procure 500 more MT of paddy from the farmers.

In view of the remaining capacity, the Chirang district administration appealed to the farmers who have done registration for selling paddy but not sold their paddy yet to come forward and sell the same in PPC, Kajalgaon and PPC, Bijni respectively. The district administration said any farmer who is interested to sell paddy in PPC may consult District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Agriculture Development Officer (ADO)s and Agriculture Extension Assistant (AEA)s in their respective offices and for any queries or complaints they can contact the numbers at Kajalgaon PPC 7638005406, Bijnji PPC 8822981048 or control room at Kajalgaon 03664 242316 and Bijni 7002019637.

The Deputy Commissioner also informed that a total of 2, 86,242 NFSA beneficiaries had completed e-KYC update under AB-PMJAY against the target of 3, 23,094 (89% progress) till May 31. He appealed the remaining beneficiaries to update their e-KYC under AB-PMJAY to enroll themselves as soon as possible by consulting their respective ASHA/Anganwadi worker/Jeevika Sakhi etc.
