Coronavirus: KAAC Restricts Entry of passenger vehicles

Bokajan: In an effort to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus, the KAAC has restricted the entry of all passenger vehicles, including public transport, from outside the district from March 24 to March 31.
The decision was taken by the KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang in a conclave meeting held at the KAAC Secretariat in presence of Deputy Commissioner Mukul Kumar Saikia, MP Horensing Bey, Khonsing Rongpi EM i/c Health, Joint Director Health Service, Kareng Rongpipi and several other EMs, MACs and secretaries. The meeting discussed measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and hence directed the Karbi Anglong district administration to ensure social distancing and restrict public gathering. The meeting also resolved to keep all sorts of shops, godowns and weekly market shut to ensure strict compliance of home quarantine guidelines.
The meeting also reviewed on the availability of testing facilities and conducting screening test in every entry point in the district by teams of medical experts. The CEM also appealed to all doctors to get mentally prepared to attend to patients and advised them to maintain maximum cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital campus.
