Karbi Anglong slowly and steadily marching forward: KAAC CEM

Donkamukam: “We are now slowly and steadily marching forward and our district is now among the developing districts of the State,” said Karbi Anglong Autonomous District (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang on Wednesday at the ceremonial distribution of GCI sheets and thread held at Satgaon in West Karbi Anglong.

He slammed the Congress for the turmoil in the State due to the anti-stir led by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU). “East, West Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao districts are not under the purview of CAA so there is no question of any protest,” said MP Horensing Bey. “Over 500 tubewells have been given to BPL families during my tenure as EM here in the Rongkhang MAC constituency,” added Horensing who is also EM KAAC.

In the public meeting on Wednesday at the Satgaon field, 200 poor families received two bundles of GCI sheets and few threads and LP students were given exercise books. In the meeting, over a dozen Congress family members joined the BJP, led by Sonjit Marak, secretary of Rongkhang MCC.

CEM Tuliram Ronghang laid the foundation stone for construction of PWD IB to be built from a sanctioned amount of Rs 2 crore at Satgaon, open stage attached with an open shed at Doloni to be built from a sanctioned amount of Rs 1 crore under No. 5 MAC constituency in West Karbi Anglong.
