Cotton University inks MoU with Assam State Space Application Centre to Boost Space Technology Training

Guwahati: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam State Space Application Centre (ASSAC), Science, Technology and Climate Change Department, Government of Assam, on 12th August 2025. The agreement focuses on training, capacity building, research, and development, said a press release.

This initiative, jointly undertaken by the Director, ASSAC and Placement and Career Counseling Cell (PACCC) in collaboration with Centre for Cloud and Climate Change, Cotton University aims to bridge the industry–academia skill gap by providing various opportunities in the fields of remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and other domains of space technology.

Dr. Arindam Garg, Registrar, Cotton University, and P. L. N. Raju, Director, ASSAC, were the signatories of the MoU. Dr. Garg remarked that this collaboration would bring immense mutual benefits to both the institutions adding that it would be advantageous not only for students but also for the academic fraternity. Raju stated, “Our intention is to synergize academic excellence with space technology for the benefit of the common people.”
