Cultural ideology of Assamese race to shine under 'Batadrawa Project'

MLA Angoorlata Deka took to Facebook to describe the cultural significance of the 'Batadrawa than' while sharing the blueprint of the 188 crore government-funded project.

Nagaon: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and MLA from Batadrawa constituency, Angoorlata Deka on Tuesday shared the first ever blueprint of the acclaimed 'Batadrawa project' under the central government's initiative.

The entire project, which will embody the structure of a large tree or "batabrikkha"  has been regarded as a landmark project in glorifying the cultural ideology of Assamese people as well as the Vaishnava religion propounded by Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva.

The whole Batadrawa project will involve the construction of different structures in a large integrated campus. Reportedly, the images released by the Public Works and NH Department display a "kala kendra", a research centre, a "guru asana", an academic block and an administrative building. The project is also said to oversee the making of a herbal garden and a yatri nivas where tribal cottages will be put up for tourists.

The aerial view of the proposed master plan shows an entire campus designed in the shape of a tree branching out. Other structures such as the research center and the kalakendra are designed in the shapes of 'khol' and 'tal', traditional musical instruments and part of the Satriya culture.

Notably, Deka took to her official Facebook handle today where she posted eight different pictures of the proposed blueprint of the 'Batadrawa project.' Explaining the significance of the project which has come up under the Central government's larger initiative called "Assam Darshan", MLA Deka wrote, "The Batadrawa project will achieve national and international recognition as a tourist, art and research centre."

It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government has already awarded a fund of Rs 188 crore to the satra authorities in Batadrawa towards the construction of the project. The fund was given during Home Minister Amit Shah's recent visit to Assam.

MLA Deka praised the efforts of the central and the state government by saying that they are "performing national responsibilities with dedication." Announcing that they are already moving fast in the direction of the project's development, she sought support and blessings from all the culture, art and literature lovers of Assam.

Notably, the recently released pictures have garnered loads of attention and appreciation from people in social media.
