Darrang Police arrested organ racket gang member

MANGALDAI: A team of Morigaon Police, with the cooperation of Darrang Police, on Thursday night arrested one Nitu Das, son of Sona Ram Das of village Dhekerigaon under Dalgaon Police Station in Darrang district, for his alleged involvement in the organ racket. He has been booked in connection with Jagiroad Police Station case number 432/2021 under section 120(B)/370 IPC.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pranjal Bora and the staff of Dalgaon Police assisted Morigaon Police in the arrest of accused Nitu Das who was hiding in the ceiling of his bedroom. The Morigaon Police took him in their custody for interrogation. It has been alleged that the arrested accused was a close associate in the organ gang racket who lured financially weak persons to sell their kidney in a private hospital in Kolkata.
