Death Anniversary of Gyanpith Awardee Mamoni Raisom Goswami Observed in Doomdooma

The death anniversary of Gyanpith Awardee and an exponent of Ramayani Literature Mamoni Raisom Goswami was observed jointly by Doomdooma Satadol Sakha Xahitya Xabha and RMC, Doomdooma at DSXX Baban.

DOOMDOOMA : The death anniversary of Gyanpith Awardee and an exponent of Ramayani Literature Mamoni Raisom Goswami was observed jointly by Doomdooma Satadol Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSSXX) and Ramdhenu Mohila Chora (RMC), Doomdooma at DSXX Baban. The meeting was jointly co-ordinated by DSSXX president Bimala Baruah and RMC president, Doomdooma Dibyalata Deka.

   Attending the meeting as chief guest Dr Meena Devi Baruah said elaborately on life and achievements of Mamoni Raisom Goswami as writer and crusader fighting for the cause of poor and destitute women.

   In the beginning the ceremonial light was lit by DSSXX president Bimala Baruah and president, RMC, Doomdooma Dibyalata Deka in front of her portrait. The meeting was also addressed by senior journalist Dhiren Deka and poet Mausami Patowari.

    Anamika Lahkar and Soma Das enthralled the audience by presenting a song of Jayanta Hazarika and Rabindra Sangeet respectively.

     Assam Sangeet ‘Oh mor aponar desh’ was sung after Bimala Baruah’s president’s remark to mark the end of the programme.
