JAMUGURIHAT: A district-level dihanam competition was held at Nagsankar Natya Bhawan under the aegis of Alok, a socio-cultural and educational organization of the greater Nagsankar area on Sunday with a day-long programme. A total of 34 teams from Biswanath, Sonitpur and Lakhimpur districts participated in the competition that began with a ghosha by local MLA Padma Hazarika.

Lochan Bora, Karabi Saikia and Runu Hazarika graced the occasion as judges. The inaugural session was attended by Palak Sarma, BDO Sootea, Hitesh Barua, ZPC member of Nagsankar among others. At the end the Manikanchan team from Tezpur bagged the title of the winner team while Koustav team from Sootea and Milijuli Dihanam team from Biswanath bagged the second and third prizes. A total of nine best teams were awarded cash awards, memorial trophies donated by the family members of eminent personalities of the greater Nagsankar area. The prize distribution ceremony was held with Baneswar Bora in the chair that was attended by doner members. Parmeshwar Saikia conducted the proceedings while Putul Bora briefed the objectives.
