District Child Labour Task Force Rescues Children from Haflong Construction Site

The District Child Labour Task Force rescued children from a construction site in Haflong, following a tip-off from the Child Help Line Unit-1098.

Haflong: The District Level Child Labour Task Force successfully carried out a rescue drive of children involved in child labour from the construction site at a hospital in Haflong on Saturday in response to a call received by the Child Help Line Unit-1098 and in collaboration with the District Labour Department.

During the drive three children were rescued from the working site and an FIR has been lodged against the employer in the matter.

The team was led by the Assistant Commissioner Dritiraj Alamyan, ACS;  Sonali Hojai, Labour Inspector; Protection Officer (NIC) Susanta Langthasa, DCPU; District Project Coordinator  Pausuiding Panme, Child Help Line and Sub-Inspector Momita Pator, Child Welfare Police Officer SJPU, Haflong PS. In any emergency one can call Child Help Line number 1098 which is a 24x7-hour services.
