Haflong: On the momentous occasion of Dima Hasao District Foundation Day, the District Day was celebrated at the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Complex on Sunday. 

The event was graced by  Donpainon Thaosen, EM;  Probita Johori, EM; Dhriti Thaosen, MAC and Dima Hasao BJP President;  Monjoy Langthasa, MAC;  Projith Hojai, MAC; the District Commissioner,  Simanta Kr. Das (ACS); the Superintendent of Police, Mayank Kumar (IPS); and the Secretaries of DHAC, among other dignitaries.

The celebration beautifully showcased the rich cultural heritage of our land through a collective display of traditional dances, reflecting the unity and diversity of the people.

 A special highlight of the event was the felicitation of Padma Shri awardee, Joynacharan Bathari, whose remarkable contributions have brought great pride to  district. Speaking on occasion as chief guest DHAC Chairman Mohet said ‘This day serves as a reminder of our shared history, resilience, and commitment to progress. May we continue to uphold the spirit of Dima Hasao and work towards a future filled with growth, harmony, and cultural prosperity. Earlier a spectacular cultural procession was taken from the DHAC premises and again culminated at Council premises after marching through major parts of Haflong.
