Dr Moidul Islam Bora Xahitya Award presented at Sivasagar Girls' College auditorium

SIVASAGAR: Dr Moidul Islam Bora Xahitya Award for the year 2022 was presented to eminent translator, Xahitya Akademi awardee Diganta Biswa Sarma at a solemn award ceremony held at the Sivasagar Girls' College auditorium on Thursday.

The award was presented to Sarma by Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tassa at a function organized by Arunodoi Shakha Xahitya Xabha, Dr Moidul Islam Bora Smriti Rakshya Samiti in association with Sivasagar Girls' College.

Receiving the award, Sarma said, "I am very happy to be here in historic Sivasagar and accepted the Dr Moidul Islam Bora Xahitya Award as a token. I dedicate this award to my parents, Mahayogi Sri Aurobindo and Lord Krishna."

"I am blessed to receive an award established in the name of such a talented son of Assam," Sarma added.

Eminent litterateur Prema Gogoi, educationist Dr Prakash Kotoky, Gargaon College Principal Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Dr Dhrubajyoti Nath and many other eminent personalities were present on the occasion. Every year, Dr Moidul Islam Bora Smriti Rakshya Samiti has been giving this award to a prominent litterateur of the State.
