KOKRAJHAR: As many as eight government employees of BTC region received the Karmashree award this year from the Government of Assam on Tuesday on the occasion of Lok Kalyan Divas
The officials honoured with Karmashree award from Tamulpur district include Pankaj Chakravarty, District Commissioner, Arunima Kakati, Assistant Commissioner, Anupam Deka, and Dr Goutam Medhi, Block Primary Health Centre Officer. They were awarded for Tamulpur district’s achievement in securing the first position among 500 development blocks in the country under the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP). They received the award from Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass in a function held at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Tuesday.
Other award recipients from BTR include Motilal Das, Senior District Administrative Assistant, Kokrajhar DC office, Manik Chandra Roy, driver, Gosainichina Mahakuma Office, Padmini Haflongfar, Administrative Assistant, Udalguri DC office, and Mridul Borman, Multi-Tasking Staff.
The Karmashree award is given to recognize and reward extraordinary, exemplary and innovative work done by government officials. Lok Kalyan Divas is observed on August 5 to commemorate the death anniversary of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi, former Chief Minister of Assam.
