GOLAGHAT: A shocking incident occurred in the Kochugaon area under Golaghat Police station on Tuesday night when a group of 5to 6 miscreants attempted to rob a West Bengal-registered truck by attacking the driver.

The driver, however, managed to escape by speeding the truck into a paddy field as the miscreants tried to hijack it. The miscreants fled from the scene as the driver raised an alarm, attracting nearby people.

According to reports, the truck (WB25N9310) was carrying rice from Krishna Saikia’s house in Sialakhatti gaon when it was attacked by a group of 5-6 miscreants who came in a white vehicle.

The police arrived at the scene, rescued the driver, and launched a search operation to track down the culprits.
