KHERONI: A 15-day Xattriya workshop, organized by the prominent social and cultural organization, Shrimanta Shankardev Krishti Vikash Kendra, concluded on July 29 in Pub-Udali village under the Lumding Assembly constituency in Hojai district. The workshop, which began on July 15, was held at the Pub-Udali Bishnu Mandir premises and culminated in a grand closing ceremony.

During the closing event, over 50 trainees showcased their proficiency in various Sattriya dance forms, captivating the audience with their performances. The workshop was organized at the invitation of the local Ramdhenu Self-Help Group. The training was led by chief instructor Bakul Bora, assisted by Devashish Saikia and Anita Devi, all appointed by the Srimanta Shankardev Kristi Vikas Kendra.

The closing ceremony featured a speech by the organizing committee’s Secretary, Gajen Hazarika. Distinguished guests, including Vice-President Joybabu Singh, District Veterinary Officer Dr Lochan Ranjan Talukdar, and retired teacher Tankeswar Nath, were present and awarded certificates to the participating students. Local residents expressed their satisfaction, noting that such workshops successfully engage and inspire the younger generation to embrace cultural traditions.
