House gutted at Bor-Khamon Gaon under Dhakuakhana Police Station

LAKHIMPUR: In a devastating fire that broke out at Bor-Khamon Gaon under Dhakuakhana Police Station of Lakhimpur district on Sunday evening, a residential house was completely gutted. The house was owned by one Hiren Pegu.

According to sources, property worth Rs 5 lakh was burnt to ashes in the fire incident. Electrical short circuit was suspected to be the cause of the fire incident. At that time, Hiren Pegu and other family members were not at home. Though the information about the fire incident was given to the fire brigade office of Dhakuakhana, fire extinguishing vehicles allegedly arrived at the place three hours later. At this, the local people expressed vehement resentment alleging dereliction of the office concerned with regard to ensuring their immediate service in times of need.
