KOKRAJHAR: A one-day programme for Identification of physically handicapped persons as well as health check-up camp was held at the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Borobazar, under Bijni Sub-Division of Chirang district on Tuesday. It was organized by the Social Welfare Department, Chirang, in collaboration with the NGO Prerna.

In the programme, it was witnessed that five specialist doctors in different fields like ophthalmology, paediatric, orthopedic along with two surgeons had visited the camp and selflessly rendered their services to the people.

An official of the social welfare department informed that around 300 men and women of the locality got benefited through this health check-up camp. The health check-up camp was inaugurated by Ajay Kumar Roy, MLA of Bijni constituency in the presence of Abhiram Mahanayak, Deputy Speaker, Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA), Gautam Das, Executive Member, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), District Social Welfare Officer Shyameswar Mushahary and other officials of social welfare department.
