Indian Army apprehends 3 ULFA(I) workers in Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI: Troops of Indian Army in a joint operation with Assam police apprehended three overground workers (OGWs) of ULFA (I) from Moran, Dibrugarh district recently. Based on specific and reliable input, the troops conducted the operation and apprehended three OGWs including a woman from the town. The apprehended sympathisers have been identified as Bobita Gogoi, Washim Ahmad and Jehirul Hussain. The troops also recovered 1 kg of explosive substance, one Tata Tigor car, three mobile phones and a laptop bag containing miscellaneous documents and stamp pads.

The timely action by the joint team has averted a major sabotage incident in the region. The OGWs along with recovered items have been handed over to Moran Police station in Dibrugarh for further investigations, stated a press release.
