Memorial ceremony for Achyut Hazarika by Cultural Mahasabha in Bokakhat

BOKAKHAT: A memorial ceremony in honour of Achyut Hazarika, the Vice-President of Cultural Mahasabha Assam and a distinguished journalist, was held on Monday at the Puwoti Xahitya Xabha Bhavan in Bokakhat. The event was organized by the Cultural Mahasabha Assam in collaboration with its Golaghat district committee and Bokakhat regional committee. During the event, a lamp was lit in front of a portrait of the Late Achyut Hazarika, who had suddenly passed away on June 9. Floral tributes were offered by Pavitra Kumar Sharma, President of Cultural Mahasabha Assam, Puranjoy Goswami, District President, and Trishna Hazarika, the wife of Late Achyut Hazarika.

Among those who spoke at the memorial were noted writer from Jorhat Pratap Chandra Barua, President of Assam State Journalists’ Association Jeetu Sharma Rajkhowa, Vice-President of Cultural Mahasabha Assam Binod Kumar Bora, Publication Secretary Dr Hariram Das, and Gopikananda Saikia, President of Puwoti Xahitya Xabha.

Also present at the event were Dr Gayatri Bora Kakoti, a professor at Kamargaon College, agriculture officer Alakananda Kakoti, and retired Additional Deputy Commissioner Utpal Doley, among others.
