SIVASAGAR: A meeting was held on Tuesday at the Sukafa Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s office in Sivasagar under the chairmanship of the District Commissioner Aayush Garg, to discuss various aspects related to the implementation of the state government’s financial assistance scheme, ‘Mukhya Mantrir Eti Koli Duti Paat.’ The scheme aims to provide one-time financial aid to both permanent and temporary workers, including staff of tea gardens. Representatives from 10 invited tea gardens across the district participated in the meeting.
The discussion primarily focused on challenges faced during the implementation of the scheme, especially regarding discrepancies found in workers’ names and details between the official payroll records and their Aadhaar cards. Emphasis was laid on resolving issues such as spelling inconsistencies and mismatches in data.
To ensure smooth and accurate implementation, the district commissioner advised tea garden authorities to update their lists based on the Aadhaar data. He instructed that the corrected lists be submitted to the district commissioner’s office by July 17. He further informed that Aadhaar operators would be deployed at the tea gardens to assist in the correction process.
The meeting was also attended by District Development Commissioner Samiran Bora, Assistant Commissioner Kankana Saikia, Labour Officer Chayanika Goswami, representatives of invited tea estates, nodal officers, and Aadhaar operators.
