The timely intervention for prevention has brought down the positive cases in the district.

On Wednesday the Chief of BTC Pramod Boro attended the Indo-Bhutan bilateral meeting with parliamentarians and senior officials of the National Malaria Programme for cross-border malaria elimination in Guwahati and shared the initiatives of the council to prevent the outbreak.

Boro on his official site said the bilateral meeting focused on enhanced surveillance, real-time data sharing, screening of border district population, house-to-house case search in every village/community in 15-day intervals, implementation of impregnated wall lining for vector control, and cross-national diagnosis/treatment.

“We are set to implement a multi-pronged approach to eliminate malaria in BTR and Bhutan, especially in the border districts, and remain committed to ensuring the health and wellbeing of all our citizens”, he added.
