Nagaon: Karbi students’ body demands capital punishment for murder accused

NAGAON: The Nagaon Karbi Students’ Union demanded capital punishment for accused Saddam Hussain, who allegedly murdered a girl hailing from Karbi Anglong district, whose body was found in the Diphlu area near a Shiva temple on June 16. The Karbi students’ organization staged a protest demanding capital punishment to the prime accused Hussain, in front of the Nagaon police station on Tuesday. The students’ organization also urged the Chief Minister’s intervention in the sensational murder.

It’s noteworthy to mention here that following the recovery of the body of the girl, the family of one Pinky Das who had gone missing from her residence under Raha PS, identified the body as that of Pinky Das. But during police investigation, it was found that Pinki Das was alive and the girl whose body was found was a resident of Karbi Anglong district. Following the investigation into the murder case, the police finally got a breakthrough and arrested the key accused Saddam Hussain from his Marangial residence in Nagaon a week back.
