KOKRAJHAR: A one-day convention on child rights with the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) under the aegis of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with the Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) was held at the auditorium of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Chief Executive Member, BTC, Pramod Boro said that the initiatives being taken by NCPCR with ASCPCR for protection of child rights, child trafficking, child education, child labour, child marriage, sexual offences, child health and nutrition were a commendable effort. He hoped that with the proper implementation of such initiative, they could ensure the protection of child rights in BTC area.

"If we can work sincerely to ensure the protection of child rights issues, we can hope that all such illegal activities will come to an end in our BTR too," he said. He also emphasized protecting the children of this area from all forms of illegal activities and creating a healthy society as stated by the Prime Minister of India.
