BOKAKHAT: At the invitation of Golaghat District Moina Parijat, the 18th biennial state-level children’s festival of Sadou Asom Moina Parijat and the concluding event of the Maharajat Jayanti will be held on December 26, 27, 28, and 29 at Porabangla near Numaligarh Refinery.
In connection with the event, in order to promote the intellectual development of children, it has been decided to publish children’s writings in the commemorative volume that will be released during the festival. For this, an initiative has been launched to collect materials by organizing story writing, essay writing, poetry, and drawing competitions among children from the 9 regional branches of Golaghat District Moina Parijat.
On August 10, at the Numaligarh Higher Secondary School auditorium, 185 children from 15 branches under the Numalikuwari Regional Moina Parijat took part in the competition. The inaugural programme, chaired by Numalikuwari Regional Moina Parijat president Pradip Sharma, began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Numaligarh Higher Secondary School Principal Nibedita Tati. District Coordinator and senior journalist Pradip Kumar Bora spoke in detail about the significance and purpose of the intellectual exercise for children and the role everyone should play in the upcoming state-level children’s festival. Before the competitions began, the hall echoed with the voices of over a hundred Moina children singing in unison the theme song of “Maharajat Jayanti, Pohorar Jatra Moina Parijat.”
