Obituary: Retired in-charge Principal of Biswanath College Rajendra Nath Borthakur

Rajendra Nath Borthakur, retired in-charge Principal of Biswanath College, a playwright and poet, passed away on Sunday in a private hospital at Tezpur. He was 89. Besides being a good actor, he was actively associated with All Assam Surya Borah Memorial One Act Play Competition. A resident of Kochgaon, Biswanath Chariali, late Borthakur also penned a good number of plays including Bhotai Deka and Pandulipi which were broadcast in All India Radio. He played a pivotal role in popularizing 'Jnan Bijnan Yatra' formed for the intellectual development of the students. Late Borthakur is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives. His death was mourned by several organisations.
