PPE clad health worker carries COVID patient on his back for 0.5 km

Lakhimpur: A health worker from Lakhimpur district in Assam carried a coronavirus patient on his back, and travelled for around 0.5 km to reach an ambulance. The poor conditions of the road to the patient's house did not allow the vehicle to reach his home. Gopal Saikia, who works for 108-ambulance service carried the patient on his back to the ambulance.

The patient's house is located in Ghulamara near Dhakuakhana. PPE clad corona warrior Saikia without having any second thoughts, carried the patient on his back so that the patient can immediately be taken to the hospital.

Assam has completed 45 lakh tests. The COVID-19 tally of Assam is 2,03,967 cases, out of which 20,271 patients are COVID positive. The recovery percentage of the state is 89.61 %.
