Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (U) houses inaugurated in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: As part of the Griha Pravesh Samaroh and Adharshila Shtapon Samaroh, BTC Executive Member for Urban development ,Wilson Hasda on Tuesday inaugurated houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) and handed it over to the beneficiaries under Kokrajhar Municipal Board (KMB) and Kokrajhar Development Board, in the presence of chairperson of Kokrajhar Municipal Board, Pratibha Brahma. The houses have been constructed with an amount of Rs. 3 lakh, out of which Rs. 2 lakh was released to the beneficiary under PMAY-U and the remaining Rs 1 lakh was borne by the beneficiary.

According to officials, 221 houses were completed under the scheme in Kokrajhar while 533 houses are under construction and almost 50 per cent completed. Moreover, land verification for 1,805 beneficiaries eligible for PMAY(U) houses is in progress.

BTC Executive Member for Urban development, Wilson Hasda said that inauguration of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban in Kokrajhar Municipal Board areas was going on as part of the Griha Pravesh Samaroh and Adharshila Shtapon Samaroh. He said that underprivileged families who could not afford houses had been benefitted by the scheme.
